Who We Are

My wife Carol and I are both "Cockneys" (born within the

sound of the bells of Bow Church in London, England) as

evidenced by our accents. Many people mistake the

accent as Australian and with good reason. Most of the

convicts shipped to Australia in the 19th Century were

  "Cockneys!"

We both became followers of Christ relatively late in life–I was 35 and Carol 32 (we’ll share
our testimony with you one day if you would like–it’s quite  a story), and our life has been
anything but dull since. We have three children, David who is married to Megan and living
in Southern California, Ellie who is married to Guillaume and living in San Jose, and Ronnie

who lives and works in San Jose.

We served in our local church in England from the outset–washing windows, helping with

the children and the youth, running sports camps and basically being available to help

where needed, eventually I was called to preach and to lead the outreach ministry. After 5

years of service I came to San Jose as part of an outreach team for the 1994 Soccer
World Cup. This in turn resulted in a call to serve on the staff of two churches (South
Valley Christian Church, San Jose and Calvary Church, Los Gatos) ~ a call we responded
to in 1995. In 1996 I was appointed Pastor of Outreach, Men’s and Sports Ministry at
SVCC and held the post for two years, leaving to take the Senior Pastor position at
Evergreen Valley Church, San Jose. Carol and I spent 6 years serving at EVC before

joining STADIA–a national church planting organization based in Irvine, CA. Following an
extensive and intensive training program, Carol and I settled in Rocklin, CA seeking God
regarding where we should plant a new church. He graciously led us into a partnership
with some wonderful believers in Auburn and the birth of new life Christian Church. You
will find all the people at new life warm, friendly and dealing with the same day to day life
issues you are–stress, family, finances, etc.

Who we are is who you are-ordinary people with an extra-ordinary God who seeks to
   connect with us daily.
