Pastor Bill has challenged us to become 'I Am Second' people, people who buck the 'Me First' trend of our culture – A culture that screams a cacophony of selfishness in our faces whilst the 'word' whispers opposition. You can achieve the Spiritual Growth Goal by practicing 3 daily habits: 1. Put God ahead of yourself - “Reach Up.” Make worship a daily priority. Recognize His sovereignty over you and your life when you rise and when you go to bed. Touch base with Him throughout the day, reminding yourself it's about Him and His agenda not you and yours – He's first, you're second. 2. Put the family of God ahead of yourself - “Reach In.” Find ways to serve the 'Body of Christ'. There are many opportunities to be an 'I Am Second' person on Sundays and during the week. Call the church office for details. 3. Put the last, the least and the lost ahead of yourself - “Reach Out.” Connect with our E-Sports team (Keith Hentschel or Woody Hoffmann) and discover ways to be an “I Am Second” person in our community. For example, become part of our Youth task force as we strive to reach the 5,000 teenagers in Auburn currently disconnected from God – God is clearly asking: 'Whom shall I send'? The question is will we respond as Isaiah did: 'Here am I, send me?' Will we become 'I Am Second' people? Will we be people of the word or will we succumb to the noise of the world and do nothing?
